Lake Weekend Loading… 🚗🌊🍷

There’s something special about a long weekend at the family cottage on Lake Otsego. No airport alarms, no boarding passes, no rushing through terminals—just a packed car, a favorite playlist, and a few hours on the road before settling into lake life.

This trip is all about slowing down. Think mornings with coffee on the deck, afternoons spent reading by the water, leisurely boat rides, and evenings with a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the lake. Add in a little shopping at the charming local boutiques and downtown shops around Gaylord, and it’s pretty much my ideal summer escape.

For this road trip edition, I’m keeping my packing simple but versatile:
✨ Comfortable outfits for walks and boat rides
✨ A polished top for Friday’s on-camera meetings
✨ A casual dinner-out look
✨ Layers for cool lake mornings and evenings
✨ A stack of books that I’m optimistic I’ll finish
✨ My favorite wine for relaxing on the deck

One of the best parts of a cottage weekend is that there’s no pressure to do much of anything. The agenda is intentionally light: read a few chapters, browse a few cute shops, spend time with family, enjoy the lake, and recharge before another busy week.

Sometimes the best trips aren’t the ones with packed itineraries—they’re the ones that give you permission to slow down.

Lake Otsego, we’re ready for a few days of books, boat rides, wine, and small-town treasures. 💙🌊🍷📚🚗

Cheers!

Amelia
