Tiny Wins on a Very Long Travel Day đźšŠ

Travel days to Europe always sound glamorous until you’re running on no sleep, carrying your life through multiple airports and train stations, and trying to remember what time zone you’re in. A few things absolutely saved me on this trip:

• My Stanley cup — having cold water for hours felt like such a luxury by the time we landed in Madrid.

• Dramamine — especially before the train to Seville. Travel days are long enough without feeling motion sickness.

• Booking a comfort seat and planning ahead for food. The extra space, ability to stretch out a little, and not scrambling for food while exhausted made a huge difference.

• Packing an extra outfit in my backpack. Changing clothes in Madrid before boarding the train to Seville completely reset my mood after the overnight flight. Highly recommend.

And one random Europe travel tip I forget every single time: if your Airbnb or VRBO says “first floor,” double check what that actually means. In many European buildings, the ground level is considered its own floor, so the “first floor” is actually one level up. Not a huge deal…until you’re carrying luggage upstairs after a full travel day.

Next post: Seville ❤️ and my goodbye to the city.

Cheers!

Amelia
